What these episodes are

Every episode on this site is generated by artificial intelligence. A language model reads a published academic paper and writes a script; a speech model performs it. The two hosts are synthetic. No one from Paperpod recorded them, and no human wrote the dialogue.

Episodes are published on an as-is basis and have not been independently fact-checked.

They may be wrong

AI-generated content can misstate findings, invent details, garble numbers, attribute claims to people who never made them, and omit the caveats that matter most. Some of these errors are difficult to detect by ear. Assume any given statement in an episode may be inaccurate.

Do not treat an episode as a reliable account of the paper it discusses. If a claim matters to you, read the original paper. Nothing here is professional, financial, legal, medical, or investment advice, and it should not be relied on in making any decision.

Relationship to the original papers

Each episode is commentary and criticism about a separate work of scholarship. This site does not host, distribute, or reproduce the papers themselves, and episodes are not intended to substitute for reading them.

The authors of the underlying papers have not reviewed, approved, endorsed, or participated in these episodes, and are not associated with this site in any way. Nothing here implies affiliation with or endorsement by any author, institution, journal, or publisher. All rights in the original works remain with their authors and publishers.

Takedown requests and corrections

If you are an author or copyright owner of a work discussed here and you would like the episodes drawing on your work removed, contact Josh Paul at jbpaul275@gmail.com. Requests from authors and rights holders are honoured promptly, and no justification is required.

Corrections are also welcome from anyone. If you have heard an episode misrepresent a paper, please say so at the same address.

This site and everything on it are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this site accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, anything published here.

Privacy

This site has no user accounts and carries no advertising. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which episodes are listened to. Google sets cookies in your browser for this and receives your IP address; what they do with it is governed by their privacy policy. Nothing else is tracked, no profile is built, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.

Most browsers can block this, and any tracker-blocking extension will. Neither affects the site working. Standard server logs may also record requests, including IP addresses, for operational purposes.

Changes

Episodes and these terms may be changed, removed, or replaced at any time without notice. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the terms as they stand.
